The elegant and subtle brown and blue on white "Transfer" pattern is highlighted with gold gilt on the dome knob and rim of the serving plate.
William Brownfield added "and Son" to his mark in 1871 when is eldest son joined him. That mark stayed the same until 1876 when one of his other sons joined the business, dating this piece to approximately 150 years old
